The Dog Inn at Wingham
Grade II * listed, this imposing 13th Century Inn occupies a prominent position opposite the church in the picture postcard village of Wingham, a short distance from Canterbury in the heart of rural East Kent. Built in the reign of King John I, and originally forming part of a monastery, the property has recently benefited from a stunning, yet sympathetic restoration both outside and in.

Egon Ronay’s recently published guide listing the restaurant at The Dog Inn among the UK’s best, realises a life-long ambition for food lovers, Richard & Sherry Martin, the property owners, who have invested heavily in the now thriving Inn.

“When we acquired the Dog Inn back in 2004 we were aiming high with the quality and style of our food and service so it’s been great to be acknowledged by Egon Ronay’s guide in this way” Richard said.

“Undoubtedly, one of South-East England’s most charming independently-owned character Inns”
